Meg Ryan Discusses Adoption on ‘Oprah’

in Celebrity Adoption

Actress Meg Ryan appeared on ‘Oprah’ last Wednesday, saying that she knew she was destined to adopt her 1-year-old daughter, Daisy True, 10 years ago.

Apparently, 10 years ago Ryan was in India, saw a little girl and felt strongly that she was meant to adopt. She weighed her options for eight years, and two years ago she started the process to adopt a daughter from China.

The 44-year-old actress is now the proud parent of Daisy. Ryan originally named her daugher Charlotte, but decided that Daisy was a better fit because "she is such a flower, just blooming and blooming." Ryan brought Daisy home in January, after an 8-day stay in China.

She also has a 13-year-old son, Jack, with ex-husband Dennis Quaid.

I’m comforted to learn that Ryan went through a lengthy, thoughtful process before adopting. With all the furor over celebrities adopting these days, I had been worried that one of my favorite actresses adopted because it’s "the thing to do" among Hollywood stars. Now I know differently.

everyone is adopting kids these days. and it makes me sick that it’s a trend in hollywood. adopting kids from foreign countries will be the new fad like collecting shoes. and they will all drive around in their suvs with the kids on their laps and of course never get a ticket or a fine for it.

I don’t think thats true. Its not a fad or like collecting shoes. Have you ever thought it was just them being human for a change. I admit they get away with alot of things but i think im some cases the good celebs are judged with the not so quite right celebs.
