Actually I have more of a question than a comment. Regarding the tax credit…If hypothetically, my family only pays $5000 in a year for taxes, does that mean we would only get $5000 worth or tax credit or does it carry over from year to year until we reach the $11,390 mark?

According to The federal “Hope for Children’s Act” yes, the credit can be applied against tax liability over 6 years or whenever expenses reach the $11,650 (2008) cap, whichever comes first. Bush administration did something right for a change…
